Welcome to the research page!
In this section it is possible to read about my research projects. I work on the model organism Drosophila melanogaster (the fruit fly) since 1992 and my main interests are about heterochromatin (specifically, the Y chromosome) and DNA replication/repair. Collaborations involve also research about cell division, chromatin condensation and telomeric fusions of mitotic chromosomes. I work on both live organisms and cell coltures (S2 line).
From this page it is possible to reach the specific sections described above by clicking the links on top of the page.
At the moment I am in Prof. Maurizio Gatti's lab at "Sapienza" - University of Rome (Italy), in the Genetics and Molecular Biology Dept. I also teach Genetics at Urbino University (Italy). I can be reached by email using the animation at the bottom of the web site home page.
